Using Feedback

Why can't I print the contents of the feedback window?
Do feedback posts ever expire/disappear?
Can feedback act as a discussion board?

Why can't I print the contents of the feedback window?

You can. Simply press and hold the "Ctrl" key, and press the "P" key ("Command" and "P" for Mac users), and the print options box will open.

Do feedback posts ever expire/disappear?

Technically, no. Feedback posts are attached to individual articles. If an article expires and moves into the Archives, the feedback posts move with it.

Feedback posts don't disappear unless the article to which they are attached is deleted, or the posts are "Rejected" by the feedback Administrator.

Can feedback act as a discussion board?

No, feedback is not meant to act like a threaded discussion board.

Feedback Administrator Questions

Can visitors enter HTML in their feedback posts?
Is there any way to pull up all feedback posts in the Admin. tool?
Why do I receive an "undeliverable message" after approving some feedback posts?

Can visitors enter HTML in their feedback posts?

Feedback does allow HTML commands to be entered by the visitor. However the HTML tags are stripped out when the visitor clicks the "Send" button. This was done to prevent visitors from posting images or links to their Web sites on your feedback forum.

Is there any way to pull up all feedback posts in the Admin. tool?

Yes. Just enter an asterisk "*" in the search field to view all the Topic ID's and Names that contain feedback posts. This can be useful if you're trying to reject (delete) an old post that was approved, and needs to be removed for whatever reason.

Why do I receive an "undeliverable message" after approving some feedback posts?
If the "Notify poster of approval/rejection" box is checked, the poster will get an email confirmation telling them that their post was approved, or rejected.

If the email address that the poster entered is invalid (misspelled, or a bogus email account), then the notification message will "bounce", which is why you receive an "undeliverable message" notification.

What happens if an Author deletes an article with feedback posts?

Since feedback is attached to articles, posts move where ever the article moves. Change a section, the feedback goes with. Delete an article, and the posts get deleted too.
