Push Notifications & Notification Widget
Push notifications alerts users who have installed your app on a mobile device of new messages or events even when the user is not actively using your SOCS App.
How does it work? You may create groups to send specific push notifications to. Those who have downloaded your App can choose groups they wish to receive push notifications from. Type your message, select the group(s) you wish to receive the message and click send. Click here for detailed instructions.
What do App users see? On Android devices, when a device receives a push notification, your application's icon and a message appear in the status bar. On iOS devices the notification will send you a message as an alert or banner. When the user taps the notification, they are sent to your application.
SOCS App in the Stores: Your SOCS App will automatically appear in the stores as an update for users that already have the app installed.
Not everyone has downloaded your SOCS App? Don't have the App yet? No problem.
The Notification Widget is available to all SOCS Clients. While there is no push notification involved, your viewers will be able to see current and past notifications when viewing your mobile or full site.
Notifications can be placed in a variety of convenient locations on your mobile and full site.
You can choose to display up to 5 from today, yesterday or number of days in the past. If there are none, a link for Notifications will display so you may view the past 20 notifications from each of your push notification groups.
Full Site: The Notification Widget can be placed below the Top Banner and within the right side below the weather.
